Before you drill – here's how to proceed step by step.
Bevor du mit deinem Werkstück loslegst, schau erst mal genau hin: Ist es wirklich das richtige Teil?
Before you start working on your workpiece, take a close look: Is it really the right part?
Leg das Werkstück gerade auf den Tisch und vergleiche die Maße mit der Zeichnung. Vor allem die Maße im Zeichnungskopf sind wichtig.
Place the workpiece flat on the table and compare the dimensions with the drawing. The dimensions in the title block are especially important.
Wenn alles passt, kannst du loslegen.
If everything fits, you can get started.
Markiere zuerst die Stellen, wo gebohrt wird – am besten mit Anreißfarbe oder mit einem Stift, den man gut sieht.
First mark the places where you want to drill – ideally with layout dye or a pen that is easy to see.
Dann stellst du deinen Höhenreißer auf das richtige Maß ein und reißt sauber an.
Then set your height scriber to the correct measurement and scribe clean lines.
Wichtig: Die Linien sollen gut sichtbar, gerade und tief genug sein, damit du später genau arbeiten kannst.
Important: The lines should be clearly visible, straight, and deep enough so you can work precisely later.
Jetzt kommt der Körner zum Einsatz: Genau da, wo sich die Linien schneiden, setzt du den Körner an – sauber und nicht schräg – und körnst einmal leicht vor.
Exactly where the lines intersect, you place the center punch – precisely and upright – and pre-punch once lightly.
Dann kontrollierst du nochmal: Liegt der Punkt wirklich in der Mitte? Wenn nicht, kannst du noch ein bisschen korrigieren.
Then check again: Is the point really in the middle? If not, you can adjust it a little.
Wenn alles passt, körnst du mit einem kräftigen Schlag nach.
When everything fits, you give it a strong punch.
Jetzt kannst du bohren. Nimm zuerst den kleinen Vorbohrer und bohre das Loch vor. Dann wechselst du auf den 8er-Bohrer.
Now you can drill. First, use the small pilot drill and pre-drill the hole. Then switch to the 8mm drill bit.
Achte dabei drauf, dass alles richtig eingespannt ist – vor allem im Schraubstock.
Make sure that everything is clamped correctly – especially in the vise.
Ein dünner Bohrer kann schnell abbrechen, wenn etwas wackelt oder verrutscht. Deshalb: Alles schön festmachen.
A thin drill bit can easily break if something wobbles or slips. Therefore, make sure everything is securely fastened.
Wenn du fertig bist mit Bohren, kommt das Entgraten.
When you're done drilling, it's time to deburr.
Dafür nimmst du einen 90° Kegelsenker und entgratest beide Seiten vom Loch – nicht nur vorne! Hinten ist oft auch ein Grat, den du entfernen musst.
To do this, take a 90° countersink and deburr both sides of the hole—not just the front! There's often a burr on the back as well, which you'll need to remove.
Und: Nie mit der Hand Späne wegmachen! Immer mit Pinsel oder Bürste arbeiten – sonst verletzt du dich schnell.
And: Never remove chips by hand! Always use a brush or paintbrush – otherwise you'll easily injure yourself.
Zum Schluss: Mach den Tisch sauber und kontrolliere nochmal, ob alle Maße stimmen.
Finally, clean the table and check again that all measurements are correct.
Zeichnung in die Hand nehmen, Maße nachmessen, auf Toleranzen achten – dann passt alles.
