This is Nele and these are her friends.
Im Sommer sind sie mit der Schule fertig.
They finish school in the summer.
Dann begeben sie sich auf unterschiedlichen Wegen in die Arbeitswelt.
Then they enter the world of work in different ways.
Vor kurzem haben sie alle an einer Berufsorientierung teilgenommen.
Recently, they all took part in a career orientation.
Nele hat sich entschieden, Technische Produktdesignerin zu werden.
Nele has decided to become a Technical Product Designer.
Wie viele ihrer Freunde wird sie deshalb eine duale Ausbildung beginnen.
Like many of her friends, she will therefore start a dual education.
Aber was genau kommt da eigentlich auf sie zu?
But what exactly is she facing?
Wie der Name schon sagt, handelt es sich um eine zweigeteilte Ausbildung.
As the name suggests, the training is divided into two parts.
Einen Teil deckt die Berufsschule ab, den anderen Teil der Ausbildungsbetrieb.
One part covers the vocational school, the other part the training company.
Die Theorie, die Nele in der Berufsschule lernt, kann sie in ihrem Betrieb direkt in die Praxis umsetzen.
Nele can put the theory she learns at the vocational school directly into practice in her company.
Das Ausbildungssystem ist dabei sehr flexibel.

So sind verkürzte Ausbildungszeiten oder Teilzeitausbildungen möglich.
This allows shorter training periods or part-time training.
Für jeden kann eine individuelle Lösung gefunden werden.

Und das gute daran, man erlernt einen anerkannten Ausbildungsberuf und verdient gleichzeitig schon Geld.

Aber Achtung! Nicht jedes Unternehmen bildet aus, denn dafür müssen bestimmte Voraussetzungen erfüllt sein.
But beware! Not every company trains, because certain conditions must be fulfilled.
Ob ein Betrieb für die Ausbildung Jugendlicher geeignet ist, überprüft die IHK.
The IHK checks whether a company is suitable for training young people.
Es ist besonders wichtig, dass Neele über ihr Schulwissen hinaus weitere Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten im Betrieb erlernt.
It is particularly important that Nele learns further knowledge and skills in the company beyond her school knowledge.

Vor allem muss sie die Lerninhalte auch praktisch umsetzen können, denn als vollwertige Mitarbeiterin muss Nele im Unternehmen später zum Beispiel auch eigene Projekte übernehmen können.

Während der Ausbildungszeit steht die IHK Nele und ihrem Ausbildungsbetrieb immer zur Seite.
