In der Umgangssprache wird der Tag in zweimal zwölf Stunden eingeteilt.
In everyday language, the day is divided into two twelve hours.
Um die Tageszeiten anzugeben, werden Zusätze verwendet wie "früh", "vormittags", "nachmittags", "abends" oder "nachts".
To indicate the times of day, additions such as "early", "ante meridiem", "afternoon", "in the evening" or "at night" are used.
Offiziell: 20:00 Uhr. - Umgangssprache: Acht Uhr abends.
Official: 8:00 p.m. - Colloquial language: eight o'clock in the evening.
Offiziell: Es ist 13:00 Uhr. - Umgangssprache: Es ist eins.
Official: It is 1:00 p.m. - Colloquial language: It is one o'clock.
Offiziell: Es ist 20:15 Uhr. - Umgangssprache: "Es ist viertel nach acht." oder "Es ist Viertel neun."
Official: It is 8:15 p.m. - Colloquial language: "It's a quarter past eight" or "It's a quarter of nine."
"Viertel nach" und "Viertel vor" wird großgeschrieben, "viertel" und "drei viertel" wird kleingeschrieben.
"A quarter past" and "a quarter to" are capitalized, "quarter" and "three quarters" are written in lower case.
Offiziell: 11:45 Uhr - Umgangssprache: Es ist Viertel vor zwölf. / Es ist drei viertel zwölf.
Official: 11:45 am. - Colloquial: It's a quarter to twelve. / It is three quarters of twelve.
Offiziell: Es ist 20:30 Uhr. - Umgangssprache: Es ist halb neun.
Official: It's 8:30 pm. - Colloquial language: It is half past eight.
Offiziell: 20:45 Uhr. - Umgangssprache in Süddeutschland: Dreiviertel neun.
Official: 8:45 p.m. - Colloquial language in Southern Germany: three quarters of nine.
Offiziell: 20:05 Uhr. - Umgangssprache: Fünf nach acht.
Official: 8:05 pm. - Colloquial language: five past eight.
Offiziell: 20:50 Uhr. - Umgangssprache: Zehn vor neun.
Official: 8:50 pm. - Colloquial language: ten to nine.
