Die Personalpronomen "er", "sie" und "es" werden auch für Sachen verwendet.
The personal pronouns "he", "she" and "it" are also used for things.
Bei "der" verwendet man "er": Der Löffel ist teuer. Er ist aus Silber.
With "der" one uses "er": The spoon is expensive. It's made of silver.
Bei "die" verwendet man "sie": Die Gabel ist klein. Sie ist für ein Kind.
With "die" you use "sie": The fork is small. It is for a child.
Bei "das" verwendet man "es": Das Messer schneidet nicht. Es ist stumpf.
With "that" one uses "it": The knife does not cut. It's dull.
